Season 4 introduced the socket system — the deepest item-customisation mechanic MU had seen — and the spider fortress of Raklion with its boss Selupan. For item hunters this season is a turning point: gear stopped being fixed and became a project.
Socketed weapons and armor carry up to five empty slots filled with Seed Spheres, each combining an element and an effect. Hunting the right seeds, leveling spheres and slotting the perfect combination created a crafting endgame that later seasons kept expanding.
The frozen spider nest of Raklion ends at Selupan, a boss designed for organised parties and famous for dropping the era's best socket gear.
Master Levels gained proper skill choices, letting two players of the same class build noticeably different characters — the first real talent-tree moment in MU's history.
Every class received balance work, and a batch of system improvements smoothed out trading, storage and party play across the board.
